Imaging-Design II Animation Practice 1

Updated: Apr 1, 2022

On Wednesday, March 2, 2022 we had a workday so we could catch up on some work. I started doing our Adobe Animation practice assignments. The first assignment was just an introduction into Adobe Animation and taught us about the workspace of the program and how to use it. For the second assignment, we were had to imagine having a client who was the main sponsor and event promoter of the annual Car Cruise and Music Festival at the Santa Monica Pier. I was hired to create digital artwork for a number of elements that will be added to the event's Web site, including a game that he is going to develop with Animate programming functionality. The first seep was to build a basic illustration that can later be used for the client's various purposes. This project incorporated the following skills:

  1. Defining a movie file with appropriate settings for the job you're building

  2. Importing a scanned image provided by the creative director

  3. Using various drawing tools to develop a digital version of a rough sketch

  4. Understanding the different drawing modes that are available

  5. Changing fill and stroke colors using a variety of methods

  6. Adding depth using various shading techniques
