Imaging-Design II Photoshop Practice 7

Michael Ford

Updated: Feb 28, 2022

On Friday, February 18, 2022 we were introduced to a hypothetical client who is a real estate developer and is planning a new presales campaign for the company's latest master plan community. He has line-art sketches of the completed houses, but he wants color "paintings" to show prospective buyers what the finished houses might look like. We were hired to create a full-color digital rendering based on one of the artist's black-and-white sketches. This project incorporated the following skills:

  1. Converting an image from bitmap to RGB color mode

  2. Loading a custom swatch panel to access approved colors

  3. Using fill and stroke techniques to create the basic artwork

  4. Using hard and soft brushes to create detail in the painting

  5. Using blending modes to achieve special effects, such as shadows

  6. Creating and applying custom patterns

  7. Setting brush options to randomize the strokes and paint "nature"
